Hagerman Mennonite Church began in the early 1930s
as a mission Sunday School program to the community of Hagerman's Corners.
The emphasis on meeting the needs of our neighbours continues to shape
our character.
The congregation recently developed a new vision statement:
As followers of Jesus we encourage others to receive God's transforming
love and become God's servants in the world. We are now working
on implementing this vision in all we do in the congregation and broader
community.
Hagerman has emphasized the small group ministry for
seekers, and study and support. We strive to be a multi-cultural congregation.
We share our building with the Markham Chinese Mennonite Church, and
have a joint children's Sunday School and Vacation Bible program. An
active girl's club is an important service to the community as well.
Out of the congregation the Community Mennonite Church was planted in
Stouffville in 1997.
We value supportive relationships in the congregation
and we are told that this is a friendly and supportive group. We welcome
new participants.
