Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) seeks to demonstrate God's love through committed men and women who work among people suffering from poverty, conflict, oppression, and natural disasters. Currently 900 people serve in some 50 countries, including Canada. Most do MCC work for two to five year terms on a subsistence basis. Thousands more donate time to support the MCC cause. MCC programs include health promotion, agricultural development, peace making, mediation, refugee assistance, water projects, justice issues, and reforestation. Local initiatives include the TOOLS program, Global Closet thrift shop, and Circles of Friendship and Accountability.
